Services to Motor Carriers
TSS performs many services directly for the motor carrier industry. Throughout the United States, there are approximately 625,000 motor carriers in various categories including private carriers, common carriers and contract carriers which are authorized by the Federal Department of Transportation to operate in interstate commerce.
Common motor carriers are carriers to the general public. Contract motor carriers operate under specific for hire written contracts with other entities. Private carriers transport their own commodities and encompass many different types of industries.
TSS consults with motor carriers and fleets, assisting with promoting safe and efficient operating practices with special emphasis on motor fleet vehicular safety, accident avoidance and compliance with State and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and the Hazardous Materials Regulations under U.S. Code and the Code of Federal Regulations Title 49.
TSS educates motor carrier administrators, drivers and support personnel and sets up custom systems to include operations, dispatch, maintenance, driver selection and retention.
TSS assists in creating and implementing company policies, procedures, rules and regulations and publishes administrative and driver manuals.
